- OP-ED: SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE CAVES TO
RADICAL ACTIVISTS
By admin - March 13, 2019
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi caved to radical activists last week
by watering down a resolution condemning anti-Semitism
in reaction to Minnesota U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar's anti-Semitic
outbursts. Pelosi showed more determination after Omar's statements
last month after she explained congressional support for Israel
was "All about the Benjamins, baby," invoking a stereotype
of Jewish money controlling U.S. policy.
"We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman
Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments,"
Pelosi said. Now Pelosi claims that Omar's comments alleging
a dual loyalty among Israel's supporters were not "intended
in an anti-Semitic way," Pelosi said Thursday.
Radical left-wing activists, including Linda Sarsour, representatives
of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), American
Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian
Rights (USCPR), demanded that Pelosi and the Democratic leadership
back away from condemning Omar Wednesday during a rally at the
Supreme Court.

THAT IS WHAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION
WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A LESSON ABOUT CONGRESS. MY QUESTION WAS:
"WHY IS CONGRESS CHANGING RULES DUE TO THREE RADICALS IN
THEIR MIDS?"
CONGRESSIONAL RULE CHANGE ALLOWS
HEAD SCARVES, RELIGIOUS HEADWEAR ON HOUSE FLOOR
BY TARA LAW - JANUARY 6, 2019
The same day that the first two female Muslim congressional representatives
in history took office, the House voted to permit religious headwear
on the floor for the first time in 181 years.
The change, which was passed as part of a rules package, amended
an 1837 rule that was originally intended to ban representatives
from wearing hats on the House Floor. After a vote of 234 to
197 on Thursday, Congress members will now be allowed to wear
head coverings, such as kippahs, hijabs and turbans.
Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a Somali-American Muslim
and refugee, became the first member of Congress to wear a religious
headscarf on the floor. She celebrated the vote in a tweet. (Ednote:
In other words she won and used it to get her message out stating
one of her reasons for being in Congress )
"I thank my colleagues for welcoming me, and I look forward
to the day we lift the Muslim ban separating families all over
the U.S. from their loved ones," Omar wrote. http://time.com/5494964/muslim-omar-rule-change-head/
HERE WE GO AGAIN: THE UNKNOWN
ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE FROM MINNESOTA BROUGHT ON A RESOLUTION
DUE TO HER RADICAL OUTBURSTS??
Free speech is what many Americans
are about. I took that very serious and was relieved when I found
out what Nancy Pelosi resorted to, to at least do something about
it and President Trump stated that the Democrats are anti-semitic.
It was confusing due to not understanding what was going
on. The following two YouTubes will indicate why Pelosi had to
deal with it.

with a RESOLUTION addressing free speech among
other requests.

that are contrary to the values and aspirations of the United

Whereas the first amendment to the Constitution established the
United States as a country committed to the principles of tolerance

established equal protection of the laws as the heart of justice
in the United States;
Whereas adherence to these principles is vital to the progress
of the American people and the diverse communities and religious
groups of the United States;
Whereas whether from the political right, center, or left, bigotry,
discrimination, oppression, racism, and imputations of dual loyalty
threaten American democracy and have no place in American political
discourse; [...] (9) encourages all public officials to

Nancy Pelosi said many times that she

from Notre Dame, a Catholic Institution.
Education: Trinity Washington University (1962), Institute of
Notre Dame.
Full Biography
Nancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives
for the 116th Congress. From 2007 to 2011, Pelosi served as Speaker
of the House, the first woman to do so in American history. As
the Speaker, Pelosi is fighting for bigger paychecks and better
infrastructure for Americas middle class families. In 2013,
she was inducted into the National Womens Hall of Fame
at a ceremony in Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the American
womens rights movement.
For 31 years, Leader Pelosi has represented
San Francisco, California's 12th District, in Congress. She has
led House Democrats for more than 16 years and previously served
as House Democratic Whip.
Under the leadership of Pelosi, the 111th
Congress was heralded as "one of the most productive Congresses
in history" by Congressional scholar Norman Ornstein. President
Barack Obama called Speaker Pelosi an extraordinary leader
for the American people," and the Christian Science Monitor
wrote:
make no mistake: Nancy Pelosi is the most
powerful woman in American politics and the most powerful House
Speaker since Sam Rayburn a half century ago.
Working in partnership with President
Obama, Speaker Pelosi led House passage of the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act in early 2009 to create and save millions
of American jobs, provide relief for American families, and provide
a tax cut to 95 percent of working Americans. With the House
Democratic Caucus, Pelosi continues to focus on the need to create
jobs in America and prevent them from being shipped overseas.
Speaker Pelosi achieved passage of historic
health insurance reform legislation in the House which establishes
a Patients Bill of Rights and will provide insurance for
tens of millions more Americans while lowering health care costs
over the long term. The new law provides patients with affordable
insurance choices, curbs abuses by the insurance industry, strengthens
Medicare, and reduces the deficit by more than $100 billion over
the next 10 years. Cont'd: https://pelosi.house.gov/biography-0

- Pelosi: Democratic President Will Now
Be Able To Declare National Emergency On Guns
Posted By Ian Schwartz
On Date February 14, 2019 - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
warned Republicans the precedent President Trump will set if
he declares a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. Pelosi
said the next Democratic president could declare a national emergency
on gun violence.
- "You want to talk about a national
emergency? Let's talk about today, the one year anniversary of
another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America,"
Pelosi said Thursday. "That's a national emergency. Why
don't you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would.
But a Democratic president can do that." "Democratic
president can declare emergencies as well," the Speaker
warned. "So, the precedent that the President is setting
here is something that should be met with great unease and dismay
by the Republicans."
